Graduate Programs Application Management

The current application portal for Fall 2026 admits is closed. The application portal will accept new applicants in late September 2026.

The Non Degree application is only for students interested in a course that is not leading to a degree program. Please do not open an application in Non Degree if you want to apply to a program. These applications are available to Smith College employees, spouses and Northampton Area Public School Teachers. Learn more here.

Use this portal to apply to the following Graduate and Special Programs at Smith College. Application and all supporting materials must be received by the deadlines listed below for each program. All applicants must provide biographical data, a resume/CV, three letters of recommendation, a statement of objectives, official transcripts and a writing sample. Certain programs have additional information as supplemental materials. Additional information is provided in the application. International applicants are required to provide a passport and proof of English language proficiency.

Official transcripts, bearing signature and seal, should be sent from each educational institution attended leading to the bachelor's degree. Transcripts should be sent to gradstudy@smith.edu or to:

 

			Master of Arts in Teaching	Review of applications begins October 15, 2026 and ends April 15, 2027
			Master of Fine Arts in Dance	Deadline: January 4, 2027
			Master of Science in Biological Sciences	Deadline: December 15, 2027
			Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Studies	Deadline: March 1, 2027
			Diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies Program	Deadline: March 15, 2027 (Exchange programs' deadlines vary)
			Postbaccalaureate Program in Mathematics	Deadlines: March 15, 2027 for fall semester; October 15, 2026 for spring semester (Opens October 2026)
			Non-Degree study in Education graduate courses	Deadlines: August 1, 2026 for fall semester; January 1, 2027 for spring 2027 semester; May 15 for summer 2027.  Students interested in attending courses for the Summer Education courses please email Lynn Dole.
