Graduate Programs Application Management

The application period is CLOSED for Fall 2025 applications at this time. They will reopen in mid-September 2025.

The NON DEGREE application is only for students interested in a course that is not leading to a degree program. Please do not open an application in NON DEGREE if you want to apply to a program.

Use this portal to apply to the following Graduate and Special Programs at Smith College. Application and all supporting materials must be received by the deadlines listed below for each program.

Official transcripts, bearing signature and seal, should be sent from each educational institution attended leading to the bachelor's degree. Transcripts should be sent to gradstudy@smith.edu or to:
   

			Master of Arts in Teaching	Review of applications begins October 15, 2025 and ends April 15, 2026
			Master of Fine Arts in Dance	Deadline: January 4, 2026
			Master of Science in Biological Sciences	Deadline: January 4, 2026
			Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Studies	Deadline: March 1, 2026
			Diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies Program	Deadline: March 15, 2026 (Exchange programs' deadlines vary)
			Postbaccalaureate Program in Mathematics	Deadlines: March 15, 2026 for fall semester; October 15, 2025 for spring semester (Opens September 2025)
			Non-Degree study	Deadlines: August 25, 2025 for fall semester; December 15, 2025 for spring 2026 semester; June 1 for summer 2026.  Students interested in attending courses for the Summer Education courses please email Lynn Dole.

The School for Social Work handles its admission process independently. For students interested in pursuing either a master's or doctorate in social work, and for more information, please visit the School for Social Work website.
